Posted by: Dhwani, Posted on: Aug 08, 2013
Though famous and for the unparalleled Taj Mahal, Agra has other beautiful places to visit too. The Agra Fort (Red Fort) is another of Agra's World Heritage Sites. Look out for notable buildings in the fort like the Mot? Masjid, the D?w?n-e-'?m and D?w?n-e-Kh?s, Jah?ng?r's Palace, Kh?s Mahal, Sh?sh Mahal Fatehpur sikri- Buland Darw?za or 'the lofty gateway' was built by the great Mughal emperor, Akbar is another World Heritage Site. An inscription on the central face of the Buland Darw?za demonstrates Akbar's religious broadmindedness Also visit Mankameshwar Temple, Akbar's Tomb. Agra is also famous for its sweet "petha" which comes in different flavors. There are some other variations based on content, one with coconut mixed, another with some nuts put into it etc. You will really enjoy the weather around October/November.
